I Might Have a Bit of a Problem

Song of the Day: Killian's Red by Nada Surf

Sorted by style and by color
Today, I am cleaning my room. I do not do this very often. I actually avoid cleaning up as often as possible.

To clarify, I don't avoid cleaning my room because I dislike the chore. To the contrary; it seems that I "enjoy" it just a tad too much. I know that some might read this and think yeah right, but seriously - I get very intense about room cleaning.

Whenever I clean up - and this is any room, not just my bedroom - I can never just do a little bit. I have to go whole hog. I can never take care of, say, my desk or my bookshelf. I have to take care of everything between me and my desk or bookshelf. Then I look past my desk or bookshelf and think okay, well I already started. I should do a few other things. Before too long, my room has experienced a complete overhaul. I avoid cleaning because it is very hard to stop once I've started.

For example, today, all I wanted to do was tidy up my room a little bit. Get some excess clutter off of my floor. Since 11, I have moved my big desktop computer into one of the guest bedrooms due to thinking it will be to my benefit not to have the distraction in my room 24-7, I have rearranged my dressers, put away my most summery clothes, organized my desk, stripped down my bed and moved on to working on my closet. My closet was where I stopped to ponder this whole situation. This is because I decided I was going to rearrange and move every single shirt to it's "proper placement." From left to right I organized my clothing like so:

Accessories (belts, ties, etc)
Dress Pants
Not-Dress-Pants-That-Should-Be-Hung-Up-Anyway
Suit Coats
Dress Shirts
Dress Shirts That Are On the Less Dressy Side of Dressy
Not Dress Shirts That Are On the More Dressy Side of Not Dressy
Not Dress Shirts
Seersucker Shirts
Flannel Shirts
Dressy Short-Sleeved Shirts
Not Dressy Short-Sleeved Shirts
Polos
Extra Jackets

I then proceeded to color coordinate each category of shirt like so: white, tan, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, brown, black. I also had to make sure that each shirt was facing the same direction, and tutted with annoyance when it was facing the wrong way, or had a top button undone. My takeaway from the whole experience: I don't have enough yellows, indigos, or purples.

Which is when I stopped and realized the namesake for this post: I might have a bit of a problem.
